An investment session is a container for fund allocations, re-weights and movements planned for a portfolio. When a new session is opened the default trade date for all  changes is the end of the current month. However, operations that are affected by notice periods, lockup periods, penalty periods, and/or redemption gates will have a default date that meets these terms. Only one investment session per portfolio can be opened at any time.

Investment allocation tickets can be raised and stored with the session. The reports tab in the dialog box handles the creation and access to the tickets.

Investment Sessions have a status reflecting real-world office workflow:

  • Created/opened: Allocations can be added, amended, or deleted.

  • Closed: All the allocations have either been promoted to operations or cancelled.

  • Canceled: All the allocations have been canceled.

For quick reference, a listing of the sessions and their allocations is available from the operations tab of the portfolio view.

Webfolio front office has a listing of all the sessions collectively, for easy transit from session to session.

Key data are highlighted on the Investment Session listing: the session date; its current status; the name of the related portfolio; the number and status of allocations in the session; the names of the personnel involved in the session. By clicking on a session, the portfolio and session details are brought up. This listing can be viewed on screen, or copied to a management report.
