Portfolio management in the front office module is devoted largely to planning and executing the next round of investment allocations.

A number of tools and services are available:

  • You can get a current evaluation on the spot. Having the latest portfolio position information is vital, so Webfolio warns you if the last evaluation is >12 hours old.

  • An investment session can be created to hold the current allocation recommendations for compliance checking, foreign exchange exposure, and future position estimation.

  • Compliance testing is ex ante the trade date of the investment session. You can see the effect of recommended allocations on compliance requirements before the deal is executed.

  • Positions are detailed for the current date, the session trade date, and the most distant settlement date, showing the relative numbers (weights, percentages and quantities) for comparison purposes.

  • Portfolio graphs and analysis are available for current and session trade dates.

The portfolio window (illustrated here) is used by the front officer to select a portfolio. Most investment session and allocation activity takes place within the confines of the selected portfolio and it can be accessed via this window. The window detail and search capabilities are identical in the back office module.

Displayed are portfolio data such as: status; name and inception date; returns; AUM; compliance test results and current and future cash movements.

The portfolio view features the position keeping, portfolio graphs, constraint management, operations, foreign exchange exposure, and analysis tabs.
